XOne of my favorite parts of Warren's movie magazines are the wild article titles, hand-drawn by unsung lettering hero Harry Chester (pictured right). Chester's work strikes me as real period pieces.

His titles are like frozen moments in time. They epiomize a wild style that reflects he era they were were in to perfection.

Pictured below is a selection of Chester's SPACEMEN feature and article titles. Like everything in the Warren movie mags, they were all originally done in black and white, but I've colored them in for clarity's sake.

Each title has its own style, according to the type of article they were headlining. Basically, Chester invented an entire new typeface with every title he did!

BELOW: A thrilling rarity! A lengthy interview with Spacemen editor and Warren mainstay, Forrest J. Ackerman. We present this article, a transcript of Ackerman's appearance as a "Spatial Guest" on TV's Jack Barry Show, in its entirety!
