We'll close with a selection of Cap ads because today is the premiere of CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER, featuring the big-screen debut of THE FALCON! I've seen the movie, and thought it was good. It was basically a spy/action movie, with lots of action and lots of fighting. LOTS of fighting. Actually, too much fighting. What I'm saying is, they punch each other a lot. And kick each other. A lot. A lot lot.

The Falcon's debut was very well done, and Sam will prove a welcome addition to the growing Marvel Movie Universe. It's basically the Gene Colan/John Romita version of the character. Sadly, no Redwing. But we do have Emil Zola, Batroc the Leper, and a shout-out to Stephen Strange! There were a few dull scenes, particularly a lengthy recap of the last movie and how Cap and Bucky "died" -- meant to prepare us for the big reveal of the Winter Soldier's "secret." For comic fans, the non-shocker of the year.

The movie's biggest flaw: Robert Redford is absolutely dreadful. He looks like a thousand year old man with a puffy reddish wig on, and he talks as if he's asleep. Plus, he's Robert Redford, not whoever he's supposed to be. His presence totally takes you out of the movie. Oh well. Despite this, overall, I thought WINTER SOLDIER was an enjoyable popcorn flick. Liked it!
