Part 17 of an all-new 21-part series - Click here for part one!
JUNE 1964
Here's the debut of one of my all-time favorite characters, the villainous Composite Superman! He's got the powers of EVERY member of the Legion of Super-Heroes! So basically, he's a like every superhero combined into one bad guy. Box Two: You will NOT be astounded when Jimmy gets super powers, because it happens to him every other fifteen minutes. In box three, Supergirl exposes Superman's big secret, a story every child who had older sibling could relate to all too well.

There are no images in the CSA ad below, which is unusual at this point. However, thanks to the stylish hand lettering and design by the one and only Ira Schnapp, each little box still has an impact all its own.

JULY 1964
Pets are tested by their masters in "The Super Tests of the Super Pets," a story sure to resonate with America's millions of pet-loving, comic-buying children. Ditto for "The Revenge of Jimmy Olsen," where Superman ditches poor old Jimmy and replaces him with a NEW pal.

What if TV's "SMALLVILLE" advertised in the CSA style?

That's all for this installment of COMING SUPER ATTRACTIONS.
See you next time, reader!
