BAT-MANIA BEGINS
"It's a matter of life or death -- MINE!"

Hello reader. Batman here! Here's one of my coolest covers, from the Silver Age, where I find my own comic book sold out! But the cool part is what the newsstand is NOT sold out of:

Superman #203 by Curt Swan/George Klein
Flash #175 by Infantino/Esposito
Wonder Woman # 174 by Infantino/Novick
Green Lantern #58 by Gil Kane/Sid Greene
Atom #34 by Gil Kane/Murphy Anderson
Hawkman #23 by Dick Dillon/Chuck Cuidera

This HAS to be the most totally original cover idea in the history of the world! I'm sure that NO ONE ever did any cover anything like THIS before. It's 100% unique. Reader, THIS is originality. All six covers pictured below!

BATMAN COVER ORIGINAL?
The Shadow Knows!

Pictured left is The Shadow #215, February 1, 1941, featuring "The Wasp Returns." Look at all the pulps on that spinner -- just like my Batman cover above! OK, so maybe it wasn't SO totally original after all. (That's Shadow #202 from 1940 on the spinner, and pictured below.) Is the Shadow aware that I copied his cover idea? Probably. After all, he is the Shadow. He knows.
