PART THREE OF THREE
The JOKER IS WILD!

.
Both Jose Ferrer and Gig Young were considered for the role of the Joker, but in the end the part went to Cesar Romero, who was 58 years old when he was cast as the Clown Prince of Crime. The first Joker TV episode was adapted from Batman #73’s “The Joker's Utilty Belt,” the focus of our last issue!

The shows, which originally aired on January 26 and 27th in 1966, were written by Robert Dozier (Batman Executive Producer Williams Dozier's son) and directed by Don Weis. Needless to say, they star Adam West and Burt Ward. Pictured below are scenes from these episodes, titled “The Joker Is Wild" and "Batman Is Riled.”
